This week, the Conservative Party of Canada is holding its national convention and Pierre Poilievre’s leadership review.
This is a crucial moment for Pierre Poilievre, for the conservative movement, and for Canada as a whole.
We also know that the Liberals and their allies in the legacy media are working overtime to see Pierre Poilievre fail.
But that is where I come in.
I have worked in Canadian politics for a decade, and for the past six years I have covered it as a political journalist. I have worked for The Post Millennial, True North, and The Hub. I also covered the last Conservative convention, and that coverage alone received over two million impressions.
Last fall, I launched my own independent media company, EMCN Media. In just four months, we have seen 1,200 percent growth, making us one of the fastest-growing new media ventures in Canada.
This week, my cameraman and I will be travelling to Calgary to bring you high-quality, on-the-ground coverage of the Conservative convention.
But here is where I need your help.
Covering the Conservative convention will cost $3,000. That includes flights for me and my cameraman, a hotel room for the two of us for four nights, as well as meals and incidentals while we are in Calgary.
A generous donor has already contributed $1,000. So we are now working to raise the remaining $2,000.
Here is how simple this can be. If 100 people give $20, we reach our goal. If 20 people give $100, we also reach $2,000.
Unlike the legacy media, I refuse to take a cent in government funding. That means my ability to cover events like this depends on the generosity of people like you.
That is why I have launched a GiveSendGo for this project. If you believe Canada deserves better media and a better future, I hope you will consider supporting this effort.
While you are at it, please consider getting a paid subscription to this Substack if you have not already.
Thank you for supporting independent journalism!
God bless,
Elie Cantin-Nantel,
Founder & Publisher, EMCN Media
